Baby card

This card uses Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. The separate word you cut in a coloured or patterned paper and lay across the top of the word ‘Baby’ on the front of the card. It looks lovely just left like that very plain and simple in appropriate colours or with a ribbon tied around the ‘Y’ – you could of course put little baby embellishments across the words too. Hettie Hippo

Inspired by a card made by Jo (thanks for the tips Jo!) – this is my take on it.

Pink Petticoat stripes paper, PP Hettie Hippo coloured in DIP and PP Big Dots paper coloured in DIP. The circular frame I doodled myself, scanned and then coloured to match in DIP. Flowers are Heidi Grace. TFL. 🙂

Happy 16th Birthday Laura

Well it is here – Laura’s 16th birthday!! To say we are proud is an understatement. There were moments over the last years we didn’t think we would see this day and to have her with us and such a beautiful, intelligent young woman is more than we could ever have hoped for. To think that tiny little scrap weighing 800 grams is now the gorgeous young lady we see before us is down to not only the doctors and nurses who cared for you but down to your strength and will to live. We love you Laura Kate, keep growing into the strong, successful young woman we know you will be. xxxxx

Minnie Mouse

I have had the Mickey and Friends cart for ages and not used it and as I have the grandchildren this week I thought I should have a go!! They will want to be card making and cutting out paper dolls and the like I am sure!! She is cute though!!

Baby Shower card

For my daughter’s shower in a couple of weeks. Made using the New Arrival cartridge on the Cricut. Card is cut from black and white Bazzill bling which has a lovely texture and sheen to it. The pregnant lady is cut into the card and backed with the black card.

Sweet 16

This one I cut on the Cricut using the Design Studio and then used a Hanna stamp layered on a nestabilities die cut. This is SO apt for Laura – she can shop for England and always needs it!!! DS template courtesy of Susan – Blue Robot.

Strictly Come Dancing

We took Laura and our 2 other daughters Sian & Louise to see the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour at the 02 arena last night as part of Laura’s 16th birthday present. It was a bit scary as Louise is HEAVILY pregnant and due in just a few weeks and baby bump did get knocked by some silly people at points so I was very protective of her last night. Laura and I had visited the Millenium Dome with her primary school when it first opened and it is so nice to see it being put to such good use! It is an amazing place full of restaurants, cinema and the HUGE arena!! The show was stunning, electric and just incredible! It was just like being in the TV studio only the judges were funnier as it was live and not on air! Laura had met Vincent Simone a few months ago, so she was in awe watching him especially when he did the Argentinian Tango with Flavia – simply astounding! No wonder they are World Champions!!
