These were just made for my cake stand bargain that I got in the Next Sale, decorative cakes – yes from Next!! They are going to look so pretty on my painted dresser with all my other shabby vintage chic bits and bobs I have collected.
Toffee cupcakes – toffee sponge cakes iced with my secret new recipe toffee topping which is lovely and light and not at all sickly like buttercream, with added fudge and chocolate sprinkles on top, they are gorgeous 🙂
Made the most delicious lemon cakes using the recipe from The Great British Bake Off.
made them in mini loaf tins and drizzled half with lemon icing and the other half I split and filled with lemon curd and double cream.
Needless to say they disappeared in hours but I will definitely use the recipe again. It was light, moist and the balance of lemon was just right and they weren’t too sweet either.
I made this for Katie’s 6th birthday today and hope she likes it! It was a labour of love but I am pleased with how it turned out. We are having a birthday meal later for her and she has no idea what the cake looks like so I can’t wait to see her face!
it has been, glorious sunshine and warm. I got lots of deliveries of new sugarcraft stash and have been busy organising it all. I have signed up for Debbie Brown’s workshop on 4th July in Middx where we will be making this gorgeous creation and it will be for Katie’s 6th birthday which is the week after. I am also making her a princess castle, so she will have 2 cakes!!
