Oh my gosh!

I am so excited and honoured! I was blog hopping which is all I am up to right now and I checked in on the Crafts U Love blog and Paula has listed me in their favourite designers list! How sweet is that, it has given me some inspiration to get my mojo back!

I am hoping and praying that the doctors can find out what is wrong and sort me out soon as I am sure this will help to restore my mojo! I am sorry I don’t have much to share lately but hopefully it won’t be too long before I am firing on all cylinders again.

Thanks to everyone who has sent me their good wishes.

Mineral Make up

I love the mineral make up – not only because it is natural and easy to use and looks so good, but also the pigment in the colours is fab! I normally use Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil and Foundation and have also bought from Lily Lolo in the past because they do sample sizes too which is a great idea and their Peep O yellow under eye powder and their Blush Away green powder is fantastic but I recently discovered a brand of mineral make up from a company called Beauty from the Earth and bought lots of their sample size eye shadows in fabulous bright colours I also learnt a tip about mixing them with a medium made from 1 part glycerine to 3 parts purified water (I used boiled and cooled tap water) and I mixed it in one of those travel bottles you get from Superdrug and it keeps for quite a while and then you mix the shadow minerals with it and paint it on and it gives a much deeper pigment. It is great as a coloured eyeliner applied in a thicker line along the lashes too and doesn’t crease or move at all. I also use Urban Decay primer potion on my eyelids and along the bottom rim on my eye, which makes a real difference to the way in which all eye shadows cling and stay on and I would highly recommend using this.

Back to school!!

I have decided I want to go to college to learn how to apply acrylic nail enhancements!! I have wanted to learn to do this for a long time and have applied to one local college to start in September – eeek I will be a VERY mature student no doubt!! I seem to have lost my mojo with crafting and haven’t touched anything for ages, using my stock of cards for birthdays etc. I hope it is temporary otherwise I will be having a big sale – so watch this space!!!

I have been tagged!

by the lovely Justine – thanks Justine!

The “rules” of the game: Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

Ten years ago: I was working as a Medical Secretary to an Obs/Gynae Consultant, the one who was my Consultant when I had my triplets and it was my dream job! I had just gone back to work the previous year when my youngest started school after a long break to bring up my 5 children. I had a celebration cake business which I ran from home but had to give it up as I was too busy to cope with the orders!

Five things in todays ‘to do list’:
1. Go to the bank
2. Take my daughter to work
3. Watch Big Brother tonight to find out why Alex was chucked out!
4. Make cakes as I hate shop bought ones but am lazy!
5. Think about what to do for dinner tonight!

Snacks I enjoy: Nachos smothered in cheese and guacamole and sour cream, tomatoes as they come and bananas.

Things I would do if I was a millionaire:

Buy a place in Florida & the Algarve TODAY! Make sure all the children were comfortably off. Have a big house with a totally enclosed garden for my precious fur babies.

Places I have lived: Wimbledon, South Nutfield (twice) Horley, Woodmansterne and now Smallfield.

I will now tag Tracy, Lim, Enfys, Dawn and Debby.

Hope you don’t mind girls! It is a bit of fun and we all get to know more about one another too!!

Wedding card

With thanks to Tracy Gough for the inspiration for this card and for all her help. Do go and take a look at Tracy’s blog as she is uber talented and makes fabulous cards.

I made this for my SIL who is getting married for the 2nd time tomorrow and sadly none of the family will be there. I know she will appreciate this. All cut on Cricut, the ampersand card was made in DS and then decorated with swirls and a top hat, bouquet and tiara from Paper Dolls and embellished with some bling and ribbon! It was made at very short notice last night, as we only found out yesterday, so don’t look too closely!!

3-2-1 Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge

I have just made this for this week’s 3-2-1 challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar. The challenge is to make a card using 3 brads, 2 patterned papers and 1 flower and of course a Sugar Nellie or Rachel Anne Miller image. I have used 3 brads, 2 the same holding the strip of scalloped patterned paper and one in the centre of the flower, 2 patterned papers from K & Co Sparkly Sweet and I have added glitter which doesn’t really show up that well!! Then I have used 1 flower. This is my first challenge entry.

Simple card

Really quick and simple card but effective I think. Inspired by Jak who makes the flowers herself with punch craft and they are simply stunning. No way could I achieve that so used fabric flowers! White card with Scor pal lines, rounded corners and then nestabilities layered in pink and brown and cuttlebugged with swiss dots and MM flowers and matching brad and ribbon to finish it off.
